Who Leda is:

Leda Health is an organization built by survivors, for survivors. In everything we do, we endeavor to meet survivors where they are and provide them with the options and autonomy they deserve.

Leda Health highly encourages assault survivors to seek in-person emergency care immediately after suffering an assault.

Our Early Evidence Kit was designed by survivors with the help of nurses, advocates, and lawyers to enable survivors to collect and store DNA, when accessing a traditional sexual assault forensic exam is not possible or against the survivor’s wishes. Again, Leda highly encourages assault survivors to seek in-person emergency care immediately after suffering an assault.

Leda Health’s Early Evidence Kits are tested at our partner lab, which is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited. Our partner lab has experience testing sexual assault kits submitted by law enforcement, having results admitted in court, and testifying in court. Because Leda Health is a private company, we do not have access to the federal Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) database, which contains DNA profiles of convicted offenders and arrestees of certain crimes and may be used by law enforcement authorities to help identify assailants of alleged assaults. Leda cannot guarantee that information collected using our kit will be admissible in a court of law and is not an attorney able to provide survivors with legal advice.

Our digital platforms include access to a 24/7 virtual Care Team, who guide survivors through the step-by-step process for self-collection and documentation. The Care Team can also facilitate hospital visits. Indeed, Leda highly encourages assault survivors to seek in-person emergency care immediately after suffering an assault.
